Darlene Panzitta is an award-winning pharmaceutical executive with over 15 years’ experience in drug development and clinical trial management. Since Darlene founded DSP in 1999, the company has earned a national reputation for excellence in clinical trial management and customer service. Darlene continues to earn accolades for her vision and focus on raising the bar in outsourced clinical trial management.
Darlene started her research career working within pharmaceutical companies (Organon, Knoll, and Bayer) in the monitoring, project/study management, and drug safety departments. She is an expert at virtually every aspect of early to late stage drug development with a focus on local and global study management. Her therapeutic expertise includes women’s health and reproductive endocrinology with additional experience in endocrinology, urology, pain, CNS, gastrointestinal, gynecology, dermatology, and devices.
Darlene was one of only 11 winners recognized nationwide with the prestigious Ernst & Young LLP’s 2010 Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ Award. She was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 Award in the state of New Jersey and awarded the NJBIZ 40 under 40 Award in 2010. Under Darlene’s leadership, DSP has earned increasingly prominent placement on the Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the U.S. for 4 consecutive years, from 2008 to 2011. Most recently in 2012, DSP was acknowledged as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies in North America by the Women President’s Organization (WPO).
Darlene has published several articles on best practices in clinical trial outsourcing in top industry magazines, including CenterWatch, Applied Clinical Trials, and PharmaVoice, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
Darlene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Science and a Master of Science degree in Biology from Farleigh Dickinson University.
